Thinking about something I read for school about this guy that really hated how T.V. dominated over radio now and how it changed how information is present to the public. While I don't think T.V. is as bad as he thinks, I think it is interesting to think about how certain mediums affect our perception of reality. I think it's probably good to not just stick to one.

Went to the library againnn. This time to learn about a group that helps a body of water near me. I kept wondering all day if I wanted to actually go but caved and asked my grandpa to take me.

I got there a little before it started and found a book I wanted right away. It's about composting. Since I know it's kind of easy I didn't mind checking it out. I know it won't interfere much with my cooking endeavors.

It's about time for it to start. I already knew what room they do these in so I didn't have to ask, but because of that I didn't check to make sure it was happening so I was nervous and sat there reading. Then 10 minutes in they announce it's happening. I head out. I didn't take the elevator like last time because no one told me I could this time. I go out to the door down stairs where I saw people go in last time but it was locked. I go back in. I go down the elevator. I peer through the door... There is one man present (who turned out to be one of the two presenters).

I expected this lol.

We talked for a while because they decided to wait for others to show up. I talked about how I graduated from my highschool(the man went to the same one), how I wanted to translate Japanese(they knew some people that took Japanese studies), how I was taking a break to work on hobbies like drawing, studying JP, and web building(they said I could help them with a web site lol), and how I would get a job at the end of the year.

The presentation commences. I learned some obvious stuff but also other things. If you're washing a car out front your house(while obviously using non-harmful cleaning supplies), do it on the grass so that it drains in the dirt and doesn't pick up any oil or trash and wash it into the drains and pollute the water!

Also people will just leave boats because they don't know what they're getting into and it's cheaper to dump them than dispose of them properly! That really surprised me, I had to ask about it when I saw the photos. They remove of them because no one else will.

Obviously they do lots of clean ups. They cleaned up in my neighborhood apparently. There's also some island near us being built up with dredge. Apparently it has hundreds of species of birds! Unrelated to clean ups but through food drives they can get food that is wasted in groccery stores and give it to people! They also take food from places giving it out that don't have a place to store access and give it out.

The event ends early. The lady gives me a shit ton of different material reusable straws to hand out. I'm fond of the glass one. She also gave me some little pieces of paper to grow wild flowers for bees. She said I seemed curious and interested. I mentioned how I wrote a paper on stuff like that for bee's. I mentioned my interest in street engineering. She gave me a paper about dredging. She said she might take me on a trip if she has an empty seat for ?? (I forget lol). Their business card is nice.

They both were quite nice and I hope to be in contact with them again.

After that I chilled in the library. Browsed some more books. One about zero waste, an anatomy book for artists. I saw Salt fat acid heat, which I want to read. The library has a bunch of those nice coffee table books! One about Final Fantasy, one filled with story boards from Game of Thrones, etc. My mom picked me up right as they were closing and I saw her just as I was walking out. A good day.

I went to the library today with the intention of making a bird house and talking to the people there. I arrived just on time for when they said they were starting and headed down stairs. I even got to ride the elevator which its sign says is only for disbaled people because the staff told me to.

When I went down stairs however there were only 2 people there that seemed on the younger teen side. With the small and young turn out, I just decided to head back up. It's not that I'm repelled by people younger than me, it just seemed like it'd be harder to socialize, especailly with how few people were there.

I passed a lady getting off the elevator. When I went to check out books later see asked me about my bird house cause she wanted to see it, but I had nothing to show! That alone made me wish I had done it, she seemed very sweet. :]

Anyways I had fun broasing for quite a while, found some interesting manga.

Firstly, Oishibono. It seems to be and extremly long unning manga from the 80's about journalists who review food. I wasn't sure where to start though as I didn't see any numbers on one of the volumes. The one that did have a number was a version in which the title included A la Carte so I wasn't sure if it was part of the same main story line. It seems to be one of those series which was huge in Japan at some point but never caught on in the U.S. I think the art style is nice. I might check out the anime out of curiosity. Also I found the Japanese cover of the first volume funny lol.

Secondly, kageki Shojo. I had seen this before and was charmed by the cover art. Fluffy hair, pastel colors, Lady Oscar-esque fit. This time I read the synopsis and found out it's about a girl who joins an all female theatre troupe like Takarazuka and does want to play the role of Lady Oscar! I gotta read it so bad!

Thirdly, Classmates. nothing much to say because I already knew about it, but I forgot it existed! On my reading list for sure now. I actually wanted it one Christmas because I head it was being realeased in English but it was available yet.

Forthly, Other World Barbara. A story by Hagio Moto. The book is printed huge. Apparently it's scifi? Which is not what I associate her with. On the reading list. :)

Fifthly, A Man and His Cat. I can't help it, its an old man and his cat :) On the reading list.

Sixthly, there are five volumes of Blank Canvas????? I thought there were only two! I remember being kind of bumbed at the ending. Very happy to continue it.

Outside of manga, I found a Paul Hollywood cookbook for pie? Interesting. I was looking for books on Indian food but for starting out cooking I don't want to really deal with getting uncommon ingredients, or not having anymore uses for them. I ended up checking out a cookbook on soups. Most seem pretty simple with common stuff so I'm gonna ty and cook stuff from that :)

Leaving, I bought some chocolate soy milk. I think I prefer vanilla. 🥛🤍

I can't debate while speaking real time. I can't. If I can't figure out what I want to say, or misspeak,or get confused, I get frustrated, especially if it's something I'm passionate about ahh.

Not only does this frustrate me, but it frustrates the person I'm speaking to. Not fair.

It's kind of hard to have the heart to participate in online discussion in anything I don't feel 100% on because I'm afraid I'm horribly misreading what I'm responding to and because I don't want to act like I know more than I do.

I find writing online easier because I think I'm better at phrasing myself in writing and because most of the time I have more time then in a speaking conversation to formulate my thought.

But I find it harder mentally, because if I do mess up, it inscribed, it feels physical, and deleting things often feels weird. In a speaking conversation, the moment I say something, it's gone like the wind. I feel less pain once corrected or after having my opinion swayed. I feel less embarrassed over saying something stupid.
