Oct. 19th, 2022 06:44 amKind of loving my current theme I just changed to but it really feels too X-mas-y. So I'm gonna change it again! Also the theme before this, even though I really liked it, I became annoyed at how wide it was after seeing someone else's blog. I could push it in but I couldn't figure out how to fill the sides with a color separate from the content soooo, a new one!

Sep. 20th, 2022 08:53 amBuck-Tick has now been a band for 35 years. 15 years longer than I've been alive, and I'm so happy that they have been. Such a long time yet such a short time. They've basically been making music the moment they got out of highschool, the majority of their lives at this point, and yet it's so little, and I'm so, so grateful that they've been able to.
I think about fate and the chances that this group of kids that all went to the same highschool would work together to create something so amazing. I'm so thankful for everything before that led to this happening. I can't imagine anyone else, anywhere else making exactly what they have.
The world is so fragile in what will create what outcomes. I'm so grateful that fact that we got them, and the fact that I'm alive at a time when they are still active. I'm even more grateful to be alive in a time when people simply still remember and care for them because most art goes to the wayside eventually. This is wonderful.
I'm so, so grateful that fate allowed me to be alive when I am to see them, and I feel so sad for the people unable to. A time where people don't know Buck-Ticks name, a world where they don't know their musics and style is hell. The fact that nothing lasts forever is hell. So I'm grateful to have found J-rock when I did so accidentally and make friends through it as well. I'm so lucky for the fate of life to allow this.
I cry thinking about the luck that brought them here, and I cry thinking about how one day they will have to leave us. But I'm alive now, I have them now, I have their music, and they are still kicking!!!! Now is not the time for tears even thought I'm crying as I write this, it's the time to have fun a listen to Buck-Tick!!! THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME, BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!
I'm so glad to have drawn this on time. Here is to my love to Buck-Tick, all that they've done and all that they will continue to do. Music I never get bored of, unique sound, unique lyrics and sensibilities, unique relationships, and personalities. Thank you to the work of fellow artists and costume designers all here at the same time to elevate them to god tier status. I love you all so much and all that you make.

BUCK-TICK forever.

Sep. 20th, 2022 03:40 amI wish I started earlier on my Buck-Tick anniversary drawing but it's okay, I 'm about to start inking it :)
Here is the original sketches, and the original start:

I scrapped that first draft you can see in the second picture. I thought it was too boring for such a big event, and resembled other art I have seen of them. The current fanclub card by Aquirax Uno <3 especially lol. And that is infinitely better than whatever I was gonna do lol.
I've decided on a sakura motif for the final version which you can see in the corner. It's a bold decision to make considering that stuff with sakura I feel, often border on being tacky. I think I handled it well though. I want to give each petal a different color but I have anxieties about messing things up. Maybe I'll color it on my phone. I am a little bit afraid of it looking weird because I do not have a scanner right now. I also miss being able to use the drawing tablet my dad got me lmao.
Not to be artsy fartsy (and sad), but in the way people find sakura beautiful, I see Buck-Tick, but because they're human, they're fleeting (just like sakura). So I think it fits as a deeper meaning. The fact that I'll loose them someday is something I think about frequently :')

Sep. 15th, 2022 08:03 amThat comment just really flipped something off in my head I'll tell you. I feel like I just got thrown back to the 2020 grind set but with actual fuel to make it happen.
I need a trans Buck-Tick fanfic STAT, I thinks I will have to do it myself, rip.
Getting on T to be a skinny legend? I know fat men exist but I'm not fat and I can work out more and get and epic low fat to muscle ratio? I think so.

Sep. 15th, 2022 04:21 amPhysically impossible for me to care when people complain about Vkei bandmen wearing braids.
They may be significant to some black people but they mean very little to me. I've never worn braids regularly but I've worn my natural hair since I started middle school. Black styles have history but that affects me little in my daily life. People love my natural hair, they complement it and point out characters I look like. I have no personal pain associated with it. I know this influences my opinion.
For me all that matters is:
1. Does it look good or stupid on them?
2. Are they doing it while having racist opinions about black people?
That's about it. I love the photos of Imai with dreads and braids! I think he looks wonderful! And as far as I'm aware he doesn't think poorly of black people! All checks out!
When I see people discuss it they often bring up "Not listening to black people." It's a good sentiment, but black people do not all hold the same opinion. Even if they hold your opinion they will still have someone who could say that to them. At the end of the day people have to think for themselves and come to their own conclusion with what people are telling them. If after that you still think they're racist that's fine, but "Not listening to black people." is a pretty useless thing to say.
Also braids are not a thing unique to only black people? I know there are some that really only black people do but braids as a whole exist everywhere. Is it so scandalous that they simply do another style. Do corn rows and french braids really have that much of a meaningful difference?

Aug. 31st, 2022 07:21 amAn album whose title translates to "Sky Swing", which I love <3. So nostalgic feeling. The yellow costume on a green field, I feel something from when I was younger, like playing outside my grandma's house or with my mom during spring.
I've seen photos of Moon Kana posted before but her music really is wonderful (at least what I've heard so far). The 1st and 3rd songs are my favorites. It reminds me a lot of the type of vkei I would listen to more a year or two ago. I needed to crack open my window to listen to this, it is not compatible with climate control, it sounds better with the slight humidity and breeze from outside.
In a recent interview with Gloomth & The Cult of Melancholy, she says
"I make music and clothes out of the small remaining light within the darkness."
and I think that does come across in her lyrics (some of which I had to read machine translated). Even in the same translator you get different results if it's the whole text or a single line, it's interesting to see the different results.
羽ばたいて 羽ばたいて どこに行くの??
飛びたって 飛びつづけて どこに居ればイイの???"
The instrumentals and singing of the third song, "Tsuki No Tsubasa" sounds like a person holding out and saying what's in their heart as they be dragged away in the night under the moon after losing a battle. I know that's a lot but that's what appears in my head when I listen.
The whole album works well together so I suggest listening to all of it and it's pretty short anyways.
Here is the site where I got the Japanese lyrics and which host good HQ scans of the booklets that came with the CD's.
This part sounds like a ringtone to me.

Aug. 20th, 2022 09:01 amI watched the Buck-Tick Saturday stream todayyy~
Today they showed 13th floor. I wouldn't have said I was the biggest fan of it before but I really enjoyed it today. I really wanna go through the album and read all the lyrics because I've mostly forgotten them.
One of the obvious things that stands out to me is the lighting. It's like drops of bright dye covering the stage. When the red light is on Acchan it feels so graphic, especially because his clothes are all black so he's only two colors. The singular colored lights on the disco ball are also amazing. I love two particular shots with it. One at the beginning where it is just a
red mass radiating red beams. The other in a wide shot where it's yellow with lights shining at it from all directions.
I love the theatrical feel. It's so sexy. The way he sings towards the doll, how he leans ove the ballerina, Imai putting a cigarette out on his tongue ahhhh. Yes it's all so good.
Also Yuta has blond streaks during this era X)
I would like to note that I had an excellent attention span while watching today! Which I normally have a hard time with when watching concerts. I was barely on my phone, only to tweet my thoughts and then right off it. I also caught myself when my mind would wander so I wasn't zoned out the whole time. A concert is still a hard thing to take in all at once without a pause but I think this was great. Nature is healing, my brain is finally decompressing from school and sns.

Aug. 16th, 2022 11:00 pmSo warp came out about 20 years ago. It came out my birth year which feels amazing to me. It's always going to feel extra crazy to me because of that.
I watched it during the Buck-Tick Saturday live streams. I had never seen it before and I didn't get to watch the whole thing. I can't wait to rewatch the whole thing. It had such a fun and enjoyable set list. It definitely has a summer feel.

Aug. 12th, 2022 02:48 amEnjoyers of Issay I have discovered this video of a play he was part of. Pleassseee watch it if you know what's good for you! I knew he had done pantomime but I had never seen any of it. Also I found it from this meme :)
(For posterities sake, this is a video of Issay and the other actor making out labeled as "Atsushi & Issay" and another man who walks in, sees it, and walks out labeled as "Toll".
This has unfortunately given me an itch of pantomime BL that I know is never going to be sufficiently filled lmao. If you know anything like that please send it my way as fast as humanly possible.
I wasn't sure what was supposed to be happening at first because they would zoom in on the other guy and you couldn't see Issay's reactions! I wish I could watch the whole performance but I'm glad we have this bit at least. I should watch a performance of this by another group.
After watching it I was thinking a bit of a fic idea :3c Acchan in the audience~ Watching Issay getting turned on or jealous! Wanting to maybe reenact it himself? I don't know! Someone else write this if you want! XD
I've had the tab for this post open since July 12th and now it's August 12th?? Damn.

Apr. 15th, 2022 12:07 amI absolutely love Buck-Tick as a fandom. Their music is both thoughtful and fun lending itself to thoughtful discussion if you please. It also has fun(some what publicly open) members and multiple of them so it lends itself well to fun fic and ship nonsense as well. They've also, and very importantly, from the beginning, encouraged fans fantasies.
There are groups that I love and fit into the first category but not so well the second one (you could but for me personally I just don't find it in me), and definitely not the third. I still love them it jut makes it hard if I'm not always looking up translations or if I'm just not as deep into them to have something to say as often, and thus they just don't have as much for me to give attention to.
Having all of these things is what makes Buck-Tick so strong and compelling as a group. This is why I think they're so popular and have so much fan activity.
